The Delightful Mr F and I had a lovely Christmas Day. We like a peaceful yuletide, and so post present opening we headed off to the local woods for a walk. I took my XT2 and the 35mm f2, whist the Delightful Mr F was testing out his brand new Fuji XF10, my present to him this year*.
The light first thing had been, what I can only describe as typically British. It was grey and overcast, and really rather dull. As we entered the woods, the sun broke through and we were treated to some beautiful light, low in the winter sky, breaking through the trees. We could really have done with a deer, silhouetted against the trees, in a Lord of the Rings type vibe to really complete the photo, but failing that, the trees still looked rather nice.
I processed a couple of these in black and white too, and the top photo looks lovely in colour, and as though it as come out of a horror movie in black and white… It just goes to show how much you can do in post, to create the look you want.
This final shot is probably my favourite of the set. I hope you had a lovely Christmas, and all the best for 2019!
* Waiting for batteries to charge on Christmas morning is really frustrating.
