At long last, there has been some good weather here, at a time where I am not overrun with work. At the first sight of that large yellow orb in the sky, well you know what they say about mad dogs and English (women) and the midday sun... out I went into the sunshine, with the Delightful Mr F, some factor 50 sun block, and my XT-1.
The light was really harsh, which for most photographers seems to trigger a lot of wailing, and moaning, and gnashing of teeth. I love a bit if contrasty light though, it creates beautiful lines and areas of deep shadow which you can use to bring out the shapes of the flowers and leaves in a really beautiful way.
Unusually me, for I even shot in colour! There is something really beautiful about English flowers on an English summer's day.
