...well, I was asked for some prints by someone who lives in Doha, Qatar. That counts doesn't it? Perhaps, it is stretching it a little, but nevertheless, I was quite excited. The photographs were taken especially for this client of her home town of Bristol in the UK. The Delightful Mr F and I took a few trips up there covering different areas of the city each time.
The first trip resulted in significant sunburn on my part, so I was somewhat more careful after that. Always have sunblock in your camera bag, although to be fair, that kind of weather is not a usual occurrence in the UK!
I was free to photograph what ever I wanted, so I did a couple which I knew would be very personal to her time in Bristol, some, standard Bristol big hitters, like the Clifton Suspension Bridge, followed by some detail shots.
I processed them and had them printed out at A3 size. When the prints arrived from the printers it reminded me how important it is to print your work. Seeing an image on screen is one thing, but they have so much more power when printed out, and you can stand back and look at them. Somehow, printing an image feels as though you have finished the photographic process.
The prints were posted yesterday, so they will take a week or so to get to Doha. I am hope my client likes them. Knowing someone likes your work enough to put it on their wall, and that they will see it everyday is rather humbling.
